For more than twenty years, I have served as a nurse — caring for people during their most vulnerable moments, listening to their fears, and helping them navigate the challenges that shape their health and their lives. Over the years, one truth has become impossible to ignore: health is deeply connected to stability, and stability begins with a safe place to call home.
JANNIX Better Together Housing is a small, mission‑driven operation built on compassion, nursing expertise, and strong community relationships.
JANNIX Better Together Housing offers safe, affordable shared‑housing solutions designed to support individuals who need stability and community. Our homes provide structure, compassion, and connection — creating a foundation for long‑term independence and improved well‑being.
My passion for helping others didn’t start in a hospital. It started at home, with two remarkable women — my grandmothers. They were the kind of people who never let anyone go without a warm meal, a bed to sleep in, or a place to feel safe. Their homes were always open, always welcoming, always full of love. They taught me that community is built through compassion, and that caring for others is not just something you do — it’s who you are.
That legacy shaped my heart, my nursing career, and ultimately, the creation of JBT Housing.
As a nurse, I’ve seen firsthand how Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) — the conditions in which people live, work, and age — can either support healing or create barriers that feel impossible to overcome. Lack of stable housing affects everything: access to medical care, medication management, mental health, nutrition, safety, and the ability to rebuild a life with dignity.
For older adults, unstable housing can mean isolation, increased falls, missed appointments, and declining health.
For veterans, it can mean navigating trauma, limited support systems, and difficulty accessing the resources they earned through service.
For adults at risk for homelessness, it can mean living in survival mode — unable to focus on employment, health, or long‑term goals because the most basic need is unmet.
Housing is not just a roof. Housing is healthcare. Housing is stability. Housing is the foundation for everything that comes next.
JBT Housing was created to honor my grandmothers’ legacy, my nursing experience, and the belief that everyone deserves a safe, supportive place to rebuild their lives. Our shared‑housing program provides structure, community, and compassion — a place where residents can breathe, heal, and move forward.
This work is personal. This work is purposeful. And this work is needed.
At JBT Housing, we don’t just provide rooms. We provide stability, dignity, and a community that cares.
JANNIX Better Together Housing is led by January, a nurse with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals through some of life’s most challenging moments. Drawing from a deep family legacy of compassion and community care, January oversees all aspects of the housing program and works closely with local partners, agencies, and service providers to ensure residents receive the support they need.
January N.- Housing Program Director

We provide clean, comfortable, professionally managed shared‑living environments designed to support adults, older adults, and veterans who need stability. Each home offers a structured, respectful atmosphere where residents can feel secure, supported, and part of a community.
With over 20 years of nursing experience, our program is built on compassion, dignity, and understanding. We create a home where residents feel valued, respected, and encouraged — not judged or overlooked. Our approach is rooted in the belief that housing is healthcare, and stability is the foundation for wellness.
Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) directly impact a person’s ability to thrive. We address these needs by providing:
Our homes are designed to remove barriers that prevent residents from improving their health and rebuilding their lives.
We offer a stable, respectful environment for veterans transitioning from instability, honoring their service while providing the structure and support needed to move forward.
We provide safe, supportive housing that promotes independence, reduces isolation, and helps older adults maintain their health and dignity.
We offer a compassionate, structured living environment where individuals can regain stability, focus on their goals, and rebuild their lives with support.
While we do not provide medical or personal care services, we do offer:
Our role is to create the foundation — a stable home — so residents can access the services they need to thrive.
We collaborate with local agencies, case managers, social workers, and veteran support organizations to ensure residents receive comprehensive support. Our housing program works hand‑in‑hand with community providers to strengthen outcomes and improve quality of life.
At JBT Housing, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to call home. Our services are built on compassion, structure, and the understanding that stability is the first step toward healing, independence, and hope.
